What an experience it was at Artists and Fleas

It’s flashback Friday and we’re taking it back to our one month residency at Artists & Fleas. Arguably one of the best curated retail experiences in America. The market is conveniently located inside of New York City’s Chelsea Market - on the corner of 10th Ave and 15th Street. More than 10,000 visitors a day came to the market in search of holiday gifts and souvenirs.

Groups of tourists from all over the world were in search of unique items that they could only find in New York City - the cultural mecca of the United States. We interacted with customers from as far away as Taiwan and Australia. We even had a customer who purchased our shoes for her upcoming trip to Thailand. Artists & Fleas gave us the platform to truly bring Africa to the world.

During our time at the market , the published a video on Thando’s and everyday we encountered new customers who had learned about us and our pop-up from the article. Some were even sent by family members outside of NYC to find their favorite styles. We also had the infamous Nigerian artist, LAOLU, stop by to check us out.

It was so fulfilling to bring smiles to their faces. We look forward to being back at Artists & Fleas in the Spring/Summer of 2017. Stay tuned...
